Background
I was hired as an independent contractor to help Tetra Tech, a global consulting and engineering firm, market its Data Solutions Team and their Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) services.
Challenge
Current marketing focused on what the team did and didn’t consider the client’s point of view.
Objective
To refine the Data Solutions Team’s marketing message in order to focus on identifying and addressing client needs.
Process
I worked with a software engineer and data scientist to gain a deeper understanding of the team’s services and user processes. I then used desk research to pinpoint client challenges and determine how they could be addressed by the Data Solutions Team.
Deliverables
- An internal research report that detailed key findings for company marketing personnel and management outside of the Data Solutions Team.
- External marketing communications materials that targeted specific client needs and provided a clear outline of the team’s solutions.
